This educational activity has been designed for perioperative nurses and managers involved in the care of patients at risk for Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). Included are a review of the etiology of this disease as well as infection control considerations when caring for CJD patients. The rationale for instrument processing decisions is discussed, with suggestions for obtaining additional information from publications and related websites.
